Hi Guys

I want to go to Egypt early April, and I was hoping for some recomendations for the best places to kite and stay.

Hurghada / El Gouna looks a good option to me.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

call me ed a friend has got a school there in El Gouna.
web site www.kitepeople.at . Spot is great , clean and no hassle like other places nice food...night life is not that great in El gouna however after a hard day kiting a couple of green bottles will do the job, a trip to one of the islands is good as well while there.
Hurghada has got more vibes at night and maybe cheaper as well but busy busy..

I have been to the kitepeople spot in the Movenpic hotel in El Gouna twice in the last 12 months. Its very well set up. Nice friendly staff. There is a compressor for inflating your kites and beach boys to launch and land you, and boat rescue for when it all goes pear shaped. There is a charge of about 10 euros a day for using the facilities/boat cover and lockers are there also so you dont have to carry your kit up and down to the beach every day. Nice flat water, although a bit shallow in places when the tide is low. Not crowded and loads of water to find your own space. I only had 1 no-wind day in my December trip.
Here is a pic of the kitestation.

It looks and sounds awesome, thanks for the info. I've booked from the 4th- 16th April, so hopefully the wind will be on my side. I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers

My mates an I just got back from El Gouna and it was an awesome trip.

10/12 windy days - 8 days with 20 knots plus - 2 days 14 plus - 2 days no wind.

Great place to kite - waste deep water for about 500m out.

We were kiting from the 'kiteboarding club El Gouna' which was a well run and friendly station with great facilities.

El Gouna itself is nice but really quiet - bring your own fun!

Overall I think this is a great option for a kite trip from Dubai.
