Or they will be soon. There are 4 x Flysurfer 19m silver arrows on their way to Dubai - all sold.

The Silver Arrow is 25% lighter than the Flysurfer speed of a comparible size and hence flies in approx 2 knots less wind. It is also faster turning ( for all you speed freaks ) a common point of contention with the speed 19m for the LEI lovers out there.

Finally there will be something else on the water in light winds expect the speed 19m. In fact as Flysurfer claim 4-5knots is its starting point we expect them to be on the water before the speed 19.

http://www.flysurfer.com/Content/303/?mnid=1059

This is going to be fun!!! Cool

(If anyone wants to trial a Flysurfer Speed 19 please feel free to ask anytime. Colin or I are more than happy to give you a conversion brief before you take one out ( its really not that much different ) )

see you from the water
Phil

Hey Redshift, you will have plenty of chance to see them in action. Ahmed collected his yesterday and could be seen alone on the water most of yesterday. he came off the water with a smile stretching from rak to abu dhabi

we have another two to deliver in the next day or so. Plus our demo

In answer to Mustaphas questions:

The Silver Arrow 19m is "reassuringly expensive" but your "cost per hour on the water " is the lowest of any kite you will ever buy in the UAE.

Because our pricing is linked to the Euro we cannot give an exact price and anyone will need to contact us directly for our best price upto the minute.

see you from the water

Hi,

I got a SA19m from Phil and Colin a few months back. In summary, an absolutely outstanding light wind kite.

I have been out a number of times when you can see everyone watching from the beach and almost see them thinking 'If he can do it, then I can do that with my big bow'. However usually there is not enough of wind for them and they walk/swim home !!

It has very light bar pressure which was certainly surpising for me, so despite its size you can stay out for hours. It is not different in my opinion to fly vs an inflatable, though you do need to know the techniques for launch/relaunch, which are easy enough to learn. You also need to adjust your timing for jumping, but there is loads of float.

It is not the fatest to turn though (its not small !!), and as the wind picks up I prefer tube/C kites (personal preference that Colin and Phil may not agree with!!). It is also not that cheap, but you get a huge amount of technology/design/work and as Phil stated for Dubai wind conditions it should certainly give a huge amount more time on the water than you will get otherwise. From that perspective I think it is good value.

My recommendation is to give one a try and as they have a demo one this is easy enough. You will get a very good surprise !

Hi James,

thanks for the post and great to see you are so happy. If I recall you were using it on a recent trips to Egypt so its reassuring to see it can even be used in big wind countries. ( btw I saw Ahmed out on his SA19 in 18kn the other day )

Just to dispel a myth I certianly use a Speed2 19m or SA2 190 when the wind is crappy or upto 14 kn ( 14kn and a small board provides the most incredible boosts ) but after that I will swap to my 12m EH Rippehr (bow) or a Liquid force Havoc 14m or 12m(SLE).

I know Paolo of the Go Extreme team riders also does exactly the same.. (I think actually he sleeps with his LF Havoc but then thats another story:))

Colin I think is the only black sheep and will move from a speed19 or (SA19) to a speed 15m as he prefers the feel and boost of a foil.

Saying this, things are changing on the foil front as we have just taken delivery of our Flysurfer Pulse 12m which is their performance wave kite and very very similar in performance to a Bow / SLE kite. This kite will appeal to all the speed junkies who like a fast turning kite with all the benefits of a foil and also incredible water relaunch ( yes!! with a foil for all those with old stereotypical views on foils relaunchability).

opps!! just realised I slipped into a sales pitch soooorrrry just a bit enthused lately.

see you on the water soon mate

Phil

check out this link from Kite Forum. people who have been flying these kites a lot longer than us in Dubai.

http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2349064&p=531852

all very interesting 20K top end for a speed 19M (come on Ahmed you can do it:)) and backs up what we say about droping directly from a 19M speed2 or SA19 to a 12m or 10m .

see you from the water

Hi,

As I mentioned you need to know a few tricks on relaunch to make life easy (as you do on almost any kite). They are covered here

http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2349305&p=533058

Straight forward once you see them.

Our Flysurfer Silver Arrow 19m is here . If anyone would like a Demo please come and ask. We are not pushy sales poeple and won't walk upto you and shove it into your hands.

so please do not be shy.

Saying this you may have to wrestle it off Colin:)

I have also been using the Flysurfer Pulse 12m for classes and it has been great allowing me to teach body dragging and down wind course work in 7-8knots whereas normally on an LEI I would have to cancel the class.

Finally I have my first group of students wanting to learn from scratch both on foils and LEI . Is this a new breed of Dubai kitesurfer!!

see you from the water
